Blackboard Basics

Your login/user ID for Blackboard is the SAME login/user ID that you use for Web Express.

Your password for Blackboard will always be the last four digits of your social security number. DO NOT CHANGE YOUR BLACKBOARD PASSWORD.

If you need to change your e-mail address within Blackboard, or update any other personal information in your Blackboard student profile, you may do so by:

  1. Log in to Blackboard.
  2. Click on the "eCampus" tab in the upper left-hand corner.
  3. Click on the "Personal Information" link within the "Tools" box on the left-hand side.
  4. Click on "Edit Personal Information" then proceed with making any necessary changes to your personal profile.
  5. After completing your changes, be certain to click the "Submit" button located in the bottom, right-hand corner. If you fail to click the "Submit" button, your changes will not be saved.
  6. Log out of Blackboard, or proceed with your online course.

Blackboard Technical Issues

If you are experiencing technical problems within Blackboard, such as problems with the chat utility, attachments, or other technical problems, please call the 24/7 Blackboard Technical Support line, toll-free, 1-888-383-6206.

By contacting Blackboard at the time the problem occurs, the Blackboard technicians are better able to diagnose the problem. Please be prepared to provide any error messages that you might be receiving (if applicable).

Blackboard Double-Login Issue

To access the Blackboard website, please bookmark the Troy State University home page or the Troy State University Distance Learning Center website, then click on the link for Blackboard. This will ensure that you are activating a new, secure session with the Blackboard server. If you bookmark the login page, the page will be retrieved from your computer's memory, and will not launch a new session with Blackboard. This will result in having to enter the login information twice to gain successful entry to Blackboard.
